Five of the seven finalists were nominees submitted by Randall James Monroe.

Randall Neal, CEO of Randall James Monroe and member of the SIM Career Council, noted that “the awards banquet was well attended by many of the ‘who’s who’ in technology and business leadership in the DFW area. This event provides special recognition for those ‘unsung’ heroes who have quietly gone about strengthening the competitive position of their company’s product or service through the creative use of technology.”

Neal went on to say “the criterion used in the evaluation process was based on the IT leader’s overall ability to effectively elevate information technology to a proactive part of the company’s strategy. This might include increasing the efficiency of their organization by improving the company’s capacity to manage quality or significantly transform the way their organization conducts business through the use of technology.” Special recognition goes to Dr. Jack Becker who handled a key part of the evaluation process. Dr. Becker was the Judging Process Coordinator and is in the Business Computer Information Systems Department at the University of North Texas and Communications & PR Chair, SIM – DFW Chapter.
